Windmills Against Clouds - Palm Springs, CA - 2006

I learned a great deal when photographing these windmills.  First, there are thousands of them, many more than you can see from the freeway.  Second, they are huge, absolutely and incredibly huge despite how small they look from a distance.  Third, to get these babies moving the wind has to be blowing really hard.  Fourth, when the wind is blowing really hard you cannot open your car door against the wind and your camera and tripod will blow over.  Fifth, you can drive anywhere around these hundreds of miles of dirt roads and nobody will ever stop you!
