- Monoliths
My fascination with Monoliths began at age 16 when I read
Thor Heyerdahl's "Aku-Aku, The Secret of Easter Island." I spent
many hours thinking about the enormous stone giants on
Easter Island and trying to imagine who built them, what they meant and
how they were erected. Later I became fascinated with
Stonehenge, whose large monoliths were arranged in circles by ancient
peoples and for unknown purposes.
So when I visited the Oregon Coast I was immediately struck
by the natural Monoliths, not created by man, but by God. It was
as though the earth was His chess board and the Monoliths
the pieces left strewn about from an unfinished game.
