Grass in Snow - Pagosa Springs, CO - 2006

It's a funny story how I came to take this picture.  My son Jem (12) and I took a "boys vacation" to southern Colorado.  It was scheduled to snow big time but we decided to go anyway.  We figured if it got bad, we would go somewhere else.

I had just purchased a new truck and didn't yet have chains, ropes a shovel or anything else for an emergency.  We drove 10 miles down "four mile road" and came to a tree that had fallen across the roadway.  So as we turned around, we went into a ditch and got stuck...in my new truck....without any chains or ropes or tools.....just out of cell phone range.

Anyway....we did finally get a tow truck to come out and tow us out and I took this picture while we waited.  Jem watched Mr. Monk on the iPod.
