I have just returned from Japan and it was a wonderful trip! This
newsletter will focus on the work I produced there, the landscapes, water,
people, temples and more. I am very excited about the images!

Japan! New Images ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Japan: In one short week you see so little and yet so very much at the same time. It was an incredible artistic experience because it's always easier to "see" when the surroundings are new and different. Whenever I create new images, I need to live with them for a while before I can really decide how I feel about them. Because these images are so new, I have not yet had time to sort them out in my mind and so your input is important to me. What do you like and why? What don't you like and why? | |
The Temples of Japan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  These images center around the Japanese temples. They were everywhere and the most surprising ones were in the back yards of ordinary homes. This is a picture of a ceremonial washing basin. Before entering the temple grounds, the worshippers use these ladles to rinse their mouths, hands and feet. | |
Awards and Showings... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here's where my work is showing this month:

Fort Collin's MOCA Studio Tour ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Every year Fort Collin's artists open up their homes and studios for a weekend of studio tours. This year it is on Saturday and Sunday, September 16th and 17th. If you are in town this weekend, please come by between 10 am and 5 pm. I will be showing eight new images from my trip to Japan, fifteen images taken during the last year and seven of my "classic" images. My place isn't the closest on the tour, but it probably will provide
you with one of the best drives and scenery. My gallery is in our log home
and the surroundings are isolated and peaceful. | |
